Web Design by definition is an art form that was born by the advances of technology, so through its mere mentioning it would find its place in this week’s issue of MonDaily. The sites we have chosen to feature are related in more ways than one to the advances of technology, either through their form of programming and design, either through the message they send and the products they are promoting.

Below, you will see two sub sites of two major car manufacturing companies that continue to revolutionize this industry with every new model they release and these sites do the same thing for web design through their design and features.

Many have asked the question of what was humankind’s most impressive and important technology break through and the answers for that question vary from the invention of the wheel to cloning and to the invention of the internet. We have decided upon the Moon landing.

With the advances of technology, man has made himself think that he could find ways of talking to other species like whales. The site below will let you do exactly that. What would you tell a whale?

Many will say that the point technology has brought us to today is not that filled of advantages and good things arguing that technology is the main reason for the global warming we are facing at the moment. This site explains exactly how to use technology at its full but while having a lower impact on the environment.

Color Web

For the Web Article of our Colors Issue we have chosen 7 amazing web sites that make extraordinary use of the numerous colors that exist in such a great way. You can see them below in absolutely no particular order.

Cogitatur is, from what we could tell as the site is written in Polish, the site of a music club in Katowice. Responsible for the design of this site is VALP, who’s site is also featured in our Color issue just below.

VALP is the site of Maciej Hajnrich, a freelance graphic designer and illustrator from Katowice, Poland. His love of color use is greatly shown on his personal site as well as on contracted sites.

Emotions is the online portfolio of Mike, a freelance web graphic designer that has a more than obvious love for the color green. His portfolio contains a lot of memorable sites with unique designs.

N. Design Studio has been founded by Nick La, the designer behind Web Designer Wall. Nick focuses on creating beautiful stock icons, illustrations and beautiful CSS websites with hist works being featured on major design sites.

Webdesigner Depot is a great site with a huge community of designers behind it. It is an absolute necessary site for all working in the design branch as it has numerous resources starting from Photoshop brushes all the way to tutorials.

This is a digital representation of Frank Baum’s Wizard of Oz that focuses more on the Tin Man’s journey than on Dorothy’s. The colors and attention to details are simply mind blowing.

Johnathan Sace is the man behind this amazing site and, not at all surprisingly, a Photoshop Certified Expert. His wonderful portfolio starts with his personal site. Do check it out!

War Web

This week’s theme for the Music Challenge is “War”. Rather than creating a web layout with tanks and bomb shells on the background, we would greatly appreciate a site [can be hosted on any free blog platforms like Wordpress or Blogspot] either with war veterans telling their war stories, or with war photos, with professional advice to get over war trauma, it is up to you. Even though the Web challenges are usually about design, this week the content is what matters. We do realize a week is a very short period of time to create good content for a site and rest assured we will take this into consideration. Best of luck and remember you too can be an artist!

For the web section of this issue of MonDaily we have chosen two completely different sites. As we were saying in the Challenge theme announcement above, for our first choice for this week’s theme – war – instead of going for a site that says war through the graphical elements used in its layout design, we went for a somewhat different approach: something that is for the people that experienced war in some way or another.

Sea Web

The theme for the Web Challenge of this week is the beautiful sea. Wondering how you could a tribute to the sea through a web page? Wonder no more as your possibilities are almost as vast as the sea itself.

The first choice for the Web Section of our ninth issue, the Sea Issue, is the portfolio of Tomas Pojeta, a graphic designer from the Czech Republic. [You should know this before actually seeing the chosen web sites: they are both almost as tall as the sea is deep]

You have been previously warned about their tallness. The second choice of ours for this week in the web section is the portfolio of an Italian Web Services agency called Marketing-Informatico and it to basis its design on the depth of the sea, just like Pojeta’s, only that while Pojeta’s is more of an Equatorial sea [ocean], Marketing-Informatico’s seemes to be from somewhere a bit more to the North – North Pole that is.

Light Web

How could you say “Light” through a design? If you need any inspiration for the Web Section of our weekly challenge make sure you see our choices for this week’s theme – Light – below.

The web sites we have chosen for the Light Issue of MonDaily are the works of great web designers that have been already added to The Suggestions list on our site. These works can be your inspiration if you are thinking about submitting to our Challenges this week in the Web Section.

First, we have the design studio of Mike Precious. Mike is a multimedia designer offering design services for the web and print mediums. Based out of his busy home studio in Brantford, Ontario, Canada , Mike impresses a growing international client base consisting of web developers, advertising agencies, design studios, and publication companies. He also works direct with clients in a breadth of industries from start-ups and not-for-profits, to internationally recognized organizations.

Our second choice for the Web section in our Light Issue is a winner of both the FWA and the Webby Awards the site of the Rareview Agency. In 2002, we started as a small group interested in creating lasting, progressive web applications that pushed the envelope. Today, as a small interactive agency in Los Angeles, we still have that same desire and feed off new challenges from clients and technology. We are fortunate to have plenty of great clients who give us creative freedom and leeway to redefine ourselves with each new project.

Children Web

For the Web Challenge of this week the theme is, as for all the other domains, Children. This challenge might prove to be quite a tricky one as we too had some problems deciding what to chose for our choices: a site made for children or a site with a child-like design as apparently they are not that related. This decision will be only yours to make as we will accept the result of either option. Best of luck!

Our choices for this theme for the Web Section are belonging to one of children’s best friend: Disney! They are the leaders in child entertainment both in television and online with these amazing sites they have launched relatively recently.

This site is obviously made specially for children and browsing it could prove to be quite an unique experience for both adults and children.

Made only for marketing purpouses or not, Disney proves again that it is only about children and making them feel better, either through entertainment, either physically through its hospital.

People Web

For the Web Section in our People Issue we have found the portfolio of a web design company that has been built as a social network site. Do not worry. Facebook has nothing to fear about. Yet. But the FF0000 [the code for red] site sure gives a nice and quite interesting alternative to the alread dull line by line conversations on instant messaging platforms.

Walking around a virtual palin.

You are free to walk and even fly [yeees, you can fly!] around a green plain and you can stop and talk to whoever you want at anytime. The only odd thing I have noticed about this is that morning never comes. As long as you would stay online, whatever the time might be in your time zone, it is always night. Apparently they think more social interractions take place at night [what could have given them that idea?!].

: This is how an online conversation should look like.

So, RED will not dethrone Facebook as the main social network site at the moment, but it still is an interesting alternative for those of you that got really tired of reading line after line with nothing in between. Enjoy!

Nature Web

As we were expressing our most sincere regrets in the introduction of our 5th issue, nobody has yet submitted anything for any of our challenges last week. This lead us to extend the life of the Web 2.Black WordPress Theme as a prize for this week as well. Hopefully, at least four people will win this theme by submitting their works in photography, literature, music or film for this week’s theme: Nature.

Below you can see a complete screen shot from a working demo of the theme given away as a prize by Contes.ro. Clicking it you can see the working demo.

There are some things that you should know regarding this theme: you will not be given the PSD sources of the theme as all the adjustments necessary to customize this theme to benefit your needs will be made by Contes.ro [this helps us a bit in preventing illegal sharing of the theme]; the theme has been tested in only the latest versions of Wordpress so, if your blog is running on previous versions, you might need to update in order to experience all the features of this theme; you are forbidden to share this theme with anyone else [the theme, somewhere in its sources contains an unique code associated to each winner of the MonDaily contest so, not only will we know that you shared it, but we will know your identity as well].

Well, if you were expecting to find a theme for a challenge in this section, we are very sorry but there is none! And you will never find one in this section as here we will present your prize!

Enough about that, as for this theme we have came across some very interesting web sites that are all about Black!

To begin with, this is the TwoCreate site of a design agency [surprised?] that specializes in both 2D and 3D designs.

Surrealism Web

The Eleks Design web site could very well pass as one of best designed sites online today. The attention to details is simply amazing and even after staring at their site for tens of minutes at a time, you still find out something new.

The imagination of the designer(s) behind this project is simply astonishing.

The quality of the elements combining to create such an exquisite atmosphere is again mesmerizing.

Contributing to the creation of such a setting are the characters present but different on every subpage.

The screenshots posted by us in this article do this site a great injustice therefore, please click on any of the photos to be taken to this amazing site for a complete experience.

The most important factor in web design are not necessarly the programming skills as those can be taught. To most important factor is talent and this is one of the main reasons we added it as a domain for MonDaily. The presence or its lack determine how good a design turns out to be. The ideas that flow and beautifully converge into a final design are all because of talent. Very talented designers created to site presented in this issue of MonDaily.
